The Week That Was #TWTW
Thoughtful Thursdays
The Session focused on incorporating poetry and music into upcoming sessions, discussing the benefits of learning poetry, and exploring various poetic forms and devices. Participants shared insights on the symbolism of colors, the importance of nature in poetry, and the connection between poetry and music in different cultures. The Session concluded with administrative matters, including certification requirements and plans for publishing poetry on their platforms.

Brewing Knowledge Fridays
My Good School: Where Passion Meets Education, by Sandeep Dutt and published by Rupa Publications Pvt Ltd. Read with us every Friday afternoon.
Sandeep led a discussion on the importance of continuous learning and leadership in education, emphasising the role of principals and teachers as chief learning leaders. He highlighted essential qualities for educators, including integrity, empathy, and the ability to inspire, while stressing the need for a balanced approach to teaching and administrative responsibilities. The Session also covered the significance of mentorship, effective communication, and relationship-building in creating a positive learning environment, with Sandeep encouraging participants to engage in regular reading, reflection, and professional development activities.

Saturday Masterclass
Sandeep and Minakshi discussed the importance of embracing the joy of reading and introduced the next book, Productive Failure by Manu Kapoor. They also discussed the Scottish Incubator, the importance of timing, luck, and mentorship, and the challenges of building the Oakridge campuses. The conversation ended with discussing the Learning Forward Foundation's fellowship program, the Teachers Academy, and the Good Schools of India Weekly.

Sunday My Good School
We discussed the progress of the My Good School Retreat and the excitement among students, with Rajinder Pal Devgan noting the positive impact of recent visits to the Arthur Foot Academy.
Jugjiv Singh introduced Carsten Henn's book, Door-to-Door Bookstore, highlighting its themes of personal connections and the significance of book recommendations.
While reading the book The Inner Life Of Animals, the group explored naming in animals, noting that some animals, like ravens and pigs, recognise and respond to personal names. They also discussed the emotional lives of animals, particularly grief in red deer, and the importance of community and personal connections in learning and teaching.
Updates on various educational initiatives were shared, including poetry, music, and art sessions.
