Prof. Bhandari spent time at the Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI), the University of Pennsylvania as a visiting scholar. Prof. Bhandari divides his time between academic work, consulting on matters related to development, and public engagement. Ratan Tata Chair Professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and visiting faculty  Young India Fellowship Program in New Delhi.
